I haven't met him yet;
and so I don't know you.
But I know you're out there.
The mother of the one I'll love so true.
I want to say, I thank you
For all that you have taught him.
Thank you for all the things you do
to make him better than my visions dim.
You taught him to say "please" and "thank you."
You taught him it was ok to cry.
The kindest traits you did imbue.
Such as, it's important to say "I love you", and "I'm sorry."
You taught him
to not to wear his emotions like a glove
to rely on honesty, truth, faith
and that the best thing is love.
I thank you for all that you taught him
Every day of his life
And all the things you'll teach him
so that one day I'll be his wife.
Until next time,
